The DHS women’s tennis team fell to the St. Francis Bulldogs in a tough match on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The team’s singles players fared better than the doubles, winning three out of the six matches. The doubles fought hard throughout sets, but in the end only one of the three pairs won their match.

Although the doubles pairs had a hard time, seniors Lea Lamoureux and Ana Palmbaum beat their opponents with quick moves and effective serves, winning 6-0 in the first set and 6-1 in the second.

The duo built chemistry playing together on the court last year, and their ability to work together has shown through their successes this year.

Along with the senior pair’s victory, three singles players won their matches: freshman Athena Maduros and sophomores Lilah Shapiro and Sydney Sargent.

Davis had performed well against St. Francis in their past two meetups this season, beating the Troubadours. Despite their past success and strong efforts on the court, St. Francis’ determination to win proved to be too strong, narrowly beating the Blue Devils with a final score of 5-4.

Even though the loss ended the team’s season, Davis played hard and showed their grit throughout the game.
