In an instant classic, the Davis High Varsity Boys Water Polo team was edged out by Archie Williams High School in the highest-scoring match in the history of the Davis High Aquatics Center. The Blue Devils scored 21 goals, but fell just short of the 22 needed to beat Archie Williams. The game was tied 18-18 after regulation time expired. After two three-minute overtime periods, the score was still tied at 21-21. In sudden death, the Devils’ defense would come up one stop short and lose the marathon match 22-21.
Will Cutler led the Blue Devils with six goals. Luke Wright, Drew Erickson, and Henry Podsakoff would each score three. Alex Plant led the team with five assists. Goalie Zheng, who was under constant attack, had six saves.
